Add a Device Through IP/Domain

Add devices that do not support the Hik-Connect service to the App by entering the IP, port, user name, and password.

For devices that do not support the Hik-Connect service, you can also add them to the Hik-Connect App through IP/Domain.

Adding steps

  1. Launch the Hik-Connect App.

  2. Add the device by entering the IP, port, user name, and password manually.

    Add Device page for IP/Domain
  3. Once the adding process is complete, you can perform live view, playback, and some remote configuration.

Since it is not necessary to register a Hik-Connect account to add a device this way, the device is not bound to an account — it is only bound to the current mobile phone.

Notes

  • If the phone and the device are in the same LAN, the LAN IP and port can be used to add the device. If the phone and the device are on the public network, the device needs to be mapped to the public network, and the public IP and port can be used to add the device in Hik-Connect.
  • Devices added through IP differ in function from those added through the Cloud P2P domain. Some functions that must rely on cloud services — such as device sharing and alarm/call — are only supported when the device is added through Cloud P2P.

Add a Device Through Hik-Connect DDNS

Configure Hik-Connect DDNS so the App accesses the device stream directly through its domain (IP and ports).
